What does Kama mean?
Kama means bed in Tagalog, one of the major languages spoken in the Philippines, but we like it because nobody knows what it means so we can make and sell whatever we feel good about.
What does the store sell?
We sell sheets, furniture, futons, duvets, lamps, curtains, crates, rugs, vases…almost everything in the store. Talk to our friendly, knowledgeable and helpful sales representatives, or check our price lists for more information.
Can I get your products somewhere else?
Kama is a small business and our only location is here in Guelph. Our products are one of a kind and we are happy to mail or deliver products to any location necessary.
Look at those wrinkles! Will I have to iron my sheets?
No. We line-dry our sheets to conserve energy and save you money – once you’ve washed and tumbled your sheets dry a few times they will be the softest fabric you own. Once you’ve experienced the feel of 100% cotton bedding, you will not be able to go back to poly-cotton.
Will the colour wash out of my sheets? Do I have to wash in cold water? With salt? With vinegar? By hand?
No. No. No. No. No. They will be some of the most washfast things you own. Kama uses the most washfast, industrial, fibre-reactive dyes available. Without overwhelming you with chemical equations, let’s just say that the dye becomes a part of your cotton bedding – forever! Simple washing instructions are included with your purchase.
I’m cool. I like the colours, but do you have anything my mother would like?
Yes we carry solid colours, pastels, floral prints, and other subtle, less out-there bedding. Ask us – we have it. Bring Mom to the store!
How do you fit more than 100 pieces of furniture, 1000 pieces of bedding and hundreds of accessories, pillows, and duvets into one small store?
We can’t. We tried but it was hard to open the door. We have, or can make on short notice, almost anything. Talk to us, we probably have what you need.
This place looks great, not like most futon stores. Are things really expensive?
No. We have futons and frames for as little as $185, pillowcases for less than $5, and 100% cotton sheet sets from $75. We believe that you can make your place look great without spending a fortune.
